If All Else Fails...

... distract when the news isn't good.

But it wouldn't be a good Right-Wing Hack talking point if it didn't contain the word War.

Let's see, how go the other wars?

War On Marriage/Family: The Bush/Bigot Constitutional Amendment fell through, and Gay Marriage legislation remains a state issue. Let's call this a tie with those pesky fags and lesbos.

War On Terror: You tell me. Nevermind the fact that this is a misnomer about fighting an emotion. Nevermind that the physical/political part of going to war is to war against another nation (Terrorists are everywhere and state-less by nature).

But, as we've all witnessed, it doesn't matter if these "wars" are won by the right. They keep the base agitated. They keep the base misdirected. They keep all of us from having honest dialogue on these and other issues. And thus, for the right, they are the key to winning elections.

Blowjob vs. Spying

The chances aren't good that a censure of Bush, let alone impeachment, will happen. No matter how "outraged" many Republicans in the GOP-controlled Legislative branch may appear to be at Bush's criminal violation of FISA rules, they will close ranks around Dear Leader. We won't have the votes.

Let's see, Clinton got impeached because he lied about a matter that really only involves him, his wife, and Lewinski. Bush lied about wiretapping, but he will get away with it. Censure and impeachment are about letting the president know is he isn't king and above reproach. But it won't happen to this guy. I'm no longer amazed that Bush and his buddies get away with unethical and criminal shit because I guess anything goes when it comes to protecting us.
