Protecting Marriage

The latest proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage failed -- in the Senate and in the House. If conservatives are serious about "protecting" marriage, how about we take it one step further?

Of course, the congressman who brought it up really wasn't serious. But he did get his point across that the entire debate on gay marriage (especially creating an amendment to ban it) is ludicrous.
